Well I recently played and beat paper mario thousand year door and I wanted to feel up space on my blog so I decided to write a review for it
Gameplay 8/10
Paper mario is a RPG and like most RPG's it is fun to play. Throughout the game there are ememies that will chase you and if they make contact a battle will start. You can jump on these enemies to get the first punch or you can avoid them altogether. Once in a fight there's no rush to attack, you can take your time to think your strategy through which is always nice. In battle you can jump on, hammer, use a item, or even use a special move to dispatch a foe. The battles are pretty fun but after fighting the same enemies for a while is gets a bit old. Usually the battles aren't too difficult, however. There are a lot of enemies to fight and unfortunetly if you avoid too many battles the last dungeon will be a pain.
Challenge 9/10
The challenge for this game is right on... If you don't try to get out of every battle that is. If you avoid lots of battles on this game to will have a very, very hard time with the game. The first time I played the game I couldn't even beat the last boss. The second time I played I only avoided maybe 5 battles and I still had a hard, but fun, time with the last boss. Don't be lazy and you will be fine!
Controls 10/10
There are no problems with controls on this game whatsoever. I think they out did themselves here. Everything seems well placed and your never reaching for uncomfortable positions.
Music 8/10
The music on this game is actually memorable *gasp* something you don't see now days too much. All of the song fit very well with the scene. The only bad thing is that there are a few songs that get really boring but there's not many of them.
Story 9/10
The story of this game is nothing special. The classic save the princess deal... but then again what do you expect from a mario game. The good thing is that there are some good twists in it. The mini stories on the "levels" are phenominal, however! One of the levels may actually be one of the greatest stories in gaming history! They really took there time to give us a great game!
Over all 9/10
Paper mario thousand year door is is defenitely a fun game! The combination of a challenging RPG with the humor of paper makes it one great game. If you play this game you will find yourself not only immersed in a great story but also laughing at all the jokes placed into the game. Even your own attacks will leave you laughing. If you've never played this game you definetly want to try it out!
