Legends speak of a hero long ago that fought off a evil that appeared in a ancient kingdom. After defeating the great evil that threatened the land the hero set off on a new adventure. Little did the hero know however that the evil that he thought he had defeated would once again come forth to threaten the kingdom. To this day no one knows what happened to that kingdom...
In the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker you find yourself once again taking the role of the hero of time. This time it is a much different adventure than what you are used to. Oceans cover the land and only islands can be found. Link must sail the world to complete his quest.
Gameplay 8/10
Like every other Zelda game you battle off enemies and solve puzzles within dungeons. The most unique thing about this game that stands out from all the other Zelda's is that to get around you have to sail in a ship. Depending on whether you think you would like sailing for a good while from island to island or you think it would be boring will tell you how much you'd enjoy this game. I personally liked the sailing but I can see how it'd get boring fast for someone else. If you think you'd like it get the game if not than avoid it like the plague 'cause there's a lot of it. The game flows pretty good but towards the end if you didn't save up your rupees you will be very VERY sorry.
Music 8/10
There are good songs and bad songs on this game. The good thing is that all the songs fir the mood it's just that some of them aren't too memorable. This Zelda trully has some unique and really good songs a part from the other zelda's and that is really good! I often find myself tapping to "Molgera battle" music is not a worry on this game.
Graphics 10/10
To be honest when I first saw the graphics and the art work for this game I was a bit worried... okay I thought they had ruined Zelda. When I picked up the game I was really surprised at how good the art work was. This Zelda is trully amazing in the graphics department everything just looks wonderful!! The only thing that could be bad about the graphics is that if you don't like the toon kind of look than you'd probably not like this game.
Story 10/10
This is probably one of the better stories to Zelda. There are many twists in the plot and everything will just leave you in awe. You won't be disappointed.
Challenge 9/10 (10 being challenge is where it should be 1 being ridiculously easy/hard)
The enemies on this game are exactly where they should be. The enemies will put up a good fight but they aren't too difficult to take down. I was really pleased when going through a 100 floor challenge with nothing but enemies to be forced to used two drinks of elixir and a fairy. A one on one fight with most enemies isn't difficult but they often gang up on you and that is really where it gets fun. Bosses on the game are good too the only flaw that a few of them are a bit to easy for my tastes. More often than not however you will find yourself taking a few hits.
Replay Value 8/10
The replay value on this game is good enough said. I'd know because I played this game three or four times because I always quit playing mid way through the game... not because the game was bad but because I never would save and the power would go out or something. Anyway there are a lot of islands to explore and a lot of sidequests to keep you busy if you want to play around in the game.
Overall 9/10
This is a one of a kind Zelda game and one of the best. If you're a Zelda fan or you've never tried the series this is a great game to start with. Once again though if you think you'd like the sailing then this will be a great game if not... avoid it like the plague.
Recommended age 8+
This is a great game for little kids. It was kind of designed to be like a cartoon and most kids will probably enjoy it. There aren't any scary creatures and the puzzles aren't too hard to figure out.
And because everyone loves them...
